UCCS fuels SUCCESS Campaign Case Study
In our case study for UCCS, Karsh Hagan show that brand strategy, creative, content, and paid media really do fuel success for drawing in new students.
Karsh Hagan (KH) Cares was founded a few years ago as a means for us to give back to our community. What was conceptualized as a series of one-off volunteer opportunities has grown and transformed to create an entire system of giving back to Denver and beyond. We don’t give just to give—we give because we believe these organizations can help better our community. And, as a Denver-born company, there’s nothing we love more than the city we call home, and the amazing people that help it flourish.
Our KH Cares initiatives in the last year have spanned a variety of projects and causes, each one just as close to our hearts as the next. Our partners mean so much to us and our community, and we think you’ll be excited about them, too.
What can you accomplish in just 30 minutes? You could watch an episode of The Office, or maybe read a few chapters of a book. But what if we told you that, in that same 30 minutes, you could save three lives?
Colorado alone needs 450 whole blood donations a day to keep our hospitals stocked. In honor of our client Vitalant, 50 Karshies and friends took to the Vitalant blood truck on May 30 to donate and try to put a dent in that number. Those donations will be used as treatments for hospitalized children, cancer patients, and mothers after childbirth. That blood helps to transform lives forever. And, with Denver’s population having just eclipsed 700,000 estimated residents, the need for transfusable blood has continued to rise.

The Boys & Girls Club of Metro Denver’s Dream House Raffle is something we look forward to every year. Each year, participants have the chance to win the Grand Prize of a multi-million Denver Dream Home or a cash alternative. Thousands of additional prizes are given away throughout the raffle period, ranging from cruises to electronics to spa getaways.
Proceeds from the Denver Dream House Raffle support the amazing kids and programs at Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver. The organization aims to cultivate a community for the young people in our area. They are known across the country as an institution of learning and growth, creating happier and healthier tomorrows for each city they serve.
We've had the privilege of working on raffle promotion for the last 3 years, each year and each house more exciting than the last. Be on the lookout for next year’s raffle, and don’t forget to read up on Boys & Girls Clubs awesome initiatives.
A Little Help is a Colorado nonprofit and one of our most recent partnerships. The program seeks to connect neighbors to help seniors—or as we like to think of them, aged to perfection—to thrive in their own home. They seek out volunteer help to provide direct services for seniors, empowering the elders in our communities to live interdependently and with a high quality of life.
Our class of winter interns was charged with the creation of several creative concepts that they believed would help raise awareness for A Little Help, while effectively and beautifully communicating their brand message to the world. Be on the lookout for the newly implemented branding this summer, we hope you’re as excited about it as we are.
Metro Caring is a Denver-based, health-focused organization in the Denver metro area, founded on the idea that hunger needs to be ended “at the root." They offer a litany of services to their patrons, but their Fresh-Foods Market is at the heart of Metro Caring's services. The free grocery store sources products from big-name food retailers, providing nutritious options to our hungry and underserved neighbors. The best part? Metro Caring offers comprehensive anti-hunger programming to help break the cycle of poverty and educate the public on the importance of healthy eating.
To help Metro Caring to effectively serve a larger population, Karsh Hagan and the KH Cares team aid in the sorting and screening of received food donations. It’s a simple ask on the part of Metro Caring, but just a few hours and a few sets of helping hands can make a big difference. Keeping their store and stock organized is pivotal in their abilities to better serve those in need.
The Alzheimer's Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. In honor of our relationship with Rocky Mountain Alzheimer’s Disease Center on the Anschutz Medical Campus, as well as our own personal connections to the disease, Karshies convened at City Park last September to show our support for this worthy organization. With support from friends and family, we were able to contribute thousands in donated funds to the Association. Mark your calendars for this year’s walk on September 14, 2019.
