CMCI: A VALUED COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP

At Karsh Hagan, our clients demand leadership and innovation in the digital space. To help meet needs both current and future, Karsh Hagan engages in partnerships with organizations in our community dedicated to helping students flourish. One we truly value is our partnership with the University of Colorado’s College of Media, Communication and Information program. CMCI’s STUDIO track is not just a master’s degree program, but a lesson in how to use design thinking to solve complex digital problems.

A RECENT KARSH HAGAN PROJECT WITH CMCI

Recently, Karsh Hagan and CMCI STUDIO partnered on a project with Cherry Creek North, an upscale, outdoor shopping and entertainment district in downtown Denver. Together, we produced concepts for engaging 360 degree digital solutions to bring more shoppers to the district and entice them to stay longer.

“In a very short period, the students at CMCI researched and put together very thoughtful digital presentations for our Cherry Creek North Client, I was very impressed, and so was the client” - David Stewart VP, Creative Technology

Student teams paired with Karsh Hagan stakeholders in a one-week design sprint leveraging the Google Design Sprint methodology. Teams observed and interviewed shoppers to develop insights, then designed, prototyped, tested and refined solutions.

In the end, teams presented fully-functioning prototypes that explored digitally-driven loyalty programs, engaging digital signage to promote shopper exploration, and tactical solutions to overcome logistical barriers such as parking.

ANOTHER SUCCESS STORY: TREVOR GLASSMAN

Karsh Hagan’s own Trevor Glassman is a graduate of the program and a valued addition to Karsh Hagan as a direct result of this partnership. As Director of Experience Design at the agency, Trevor knows first-hand how CMCI STUDIO prepares students to meet the challenges of the fast-moving digital design space:

“I, without a doubt, would not be where I am today without the skills learned and the knowledge gained from CMCI” - Trevor Glassman, Director of Experience Design

Trevor has been instrumental at Karsh Hagan, and in working with all of our clients. We’ve had the opportunity to watch his career grow over the last few years. Currently, he is working on a project for University of Colorado’s Anschutz Medical Campus, building out a website for the CU Medical Department and helping potential patients in the community see the value in participating in a large study.

If you could be anyone you wanted to be, who would you be? How exciting is it to think that you could start a new chapter in your life in a whole new world? Without the limitations of the physical world and human constructs that have been created around you?

Well that’s where the Metaverse comes in. There are whole new worlds being created out there that will remove the physical limitations of life and allow you to chase your dreams and be who you want to be.

Sounds pretty exciting right? Let’s dig in a little more to understand what this might look like.

SO, WHAT IS THE METAVERSE?

Simply put, the Metaverse is the convergence of all the digital things you do online into one virtual experience.

In a sense, it already exists. We sit on Zoom calls, research on the web, talk on social media, buy things on Amazon, watch streaming events and online video, and play games. The Metaverse is already here.

But think of tying all of it together and removing some of the limitations that still exist in your physical life when you access the web.

But how is this all of the sudden now possible?
