VISIT DENVER Case Study
Our media case study for Visit Denver uses mixed media messaging to relay the message that Denver has everything travelers could want in a vibrant, outdoor city.
Denver remains one of the fastest growing cities in America, with world-class destinations luring residents, workers, businesses and national and international travelers. Among these flourishing destinations is Cherry Creek North, one of the most visited places in the state of Colorado.
With the record amount of investment and business activity in the area, the Cherry Creek North Business Improvement District has been evaluating digital technology solutions and experiences to help consumers navigate and explore all that the area has to offer.
To better understand what a solution like a mobile experience could offer, Karsh Hagan leveraged our relationship with the CU College of Media, Communication and Information on a mobile app design sprint project. Design sprints allow students to move rapidly against a design problem – a critical skill in today’s creative environments.
Students working toward a Master of Arts in Strategic Communication Design were given the assignment on a Monday afternoon and presented complete mobile app solutions and activation strategies by Thursday morning. Despite the incredibly fast turnaround, their work was exemplary.
Cherry Creek North mobile experience concepts were developed along with client and agency representatives and presented for review by the client, helping students develop communication and collaboration skills. Karsh Hagan will use the students' ideas as a launchpad as we continue to explore digital experiences.
This was an excellent opportunity all around. For the students, it provided tremendous real-world experience and work for their portfolio. For the Cherry Creek North BID client, this collaboration helped them start to visualize what digital solutions like an app could do, eased them into the process, and brought inspirational ideas and fresh thinking. For Karsh Hagan, we were able to continue to build our collaborative relationship with the Cherry Creek North team, as well as give back to the community by donating some time to mentor and teach students.
We wish the graduating class the best of luck in their digital career endeavors!
