Small businesses drive the economy

Small businesses may be small in size but that doesn’t mean they don’t make a huge impact on the economy. According to Entrepreneur Magazine, there are between 25-27 million small businesses across the United States that make up 60-80 percent of the U.S. job market. Since there is more creative freedom in small businesses, they apply for 13 times more patents a year than large corporations.

Support local businesses

In 2010, American Express created “Small Business Saturday” to support local businesses and encourage patrons to visit stores that enhance the local economy during the holidays. Small Business Saturday is always celebrated after Black Friday and falls on Saturday, Nov. 28 this season.

At Karsh Hagan, we have a soft spot for small businesses. Many of us can be seen sipping coffee, shopping, working out or eating around town.

These are just a few of our favorites:

  1. Vert Kitchen
  2. Corvis Coffee
  3. Rock Those Leggings
  4. Decade Gifts
  5. Hot Mamas Exercise
  6. Historians (gotta love the $6 lunch combo!)
