What makes a great ad agency? Good intentions. At least that’s what Paul Venables says. Do right by your clients, do right by your people is the San Francisco Ad-man’s philosophy. The Denver Ad Club is hosting Late Night with Paul Venables tomorrow at the Denver Newspaper Agency.
Venables, who just landed the Reebok account and represents Google, Audi and Skyy Vodka, will answer a whole range of questions for aspiring ad-men/women about what career path to take, management tricks, trends, leadership conundrums etc… He might even answer what truly makes Venables, Bell and Partners an awesome and revolutionary agency.
The Denver Egotist interviewed Venables and offers a few free takeaways for those of you not attending tomorrow. A particularly sound piece of advice for the aspiring creatives is that “…A good lesson for younger people [is] instead of going for that glamorous account, you can take a smarter career path by taking on more difficult and challenging accounts and then make something great. We wanted real clients, with real marketing challenges, and that mentality attracted respected clients like Microsoft, Barclays and HBO.”
