HR/People Manager

Administration Department



The HR/People Manager is a pivotal role here at Karsh Hagan, as people are our greatest asset. The ideal candidate will have interpersonal savvy to communicate with many different personalities while demonstrating solid HR and benefits knowledge, facilitating a positive and thriving work environment, and exhibiting the ability to adapt to constantly changing situations.


Reports to:  


Director of Finance and Operations 


Talent Acquisition:

  • Understand recruitment needs of each department and lead talent acquisition initiatives
  • Build and maintain networks to find qualified candidates
  • Post open positions, pre-screen candidates and determine candidate viability
  • Track and archive resumes
  • Set up interviews with prospective talent
  • Support recruitment, hiring, onboarding and mentoring for intern and apprenticeship programs


Talent Management:

  • Assist in administering and facilitating PIP (performance improvement plans) when necessary
  • Answer questions and serve as a resource for employees for things like insurance, 401k, PTO, etc.
  • Keep immaculate personnel files
  • Update employee handbook, organizational charts and other internal documents
  • Facilitate performance management training to managers and employees to ensure knowledge of employee review process 


HR & Administration

  • Manage the onboarding process for new hires from offer letter to engagement
  • Schedule new hire orientations and departmental trainings
  • Manage off-boarding process and conduct exit interviews
  • Responsible for maintaining medical, dental, vision, 401k, cafeteria plan, and life insurance benefits, including correspondence with providers, enrollment, and status changes
  • Prepare and transmit payroll semi-monthly on an as-needed basis 
  • Track employee PTO
  • Counsel and support managers on HR best practices
  • Cover front desk lunch for receptionist and fill in when needed
  • Assist with all agency events 


Must Haves:

  • A positive attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Occasional before/after hours work required 



  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field preferred
  • 3-6 years in an HR role
  • Experience in advertising, marketing or related creative industry 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and adept at employee relations including conflict resolution
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • General knowledge of Colorado and federal labor laws 
  • Working knowledge of G-suite, Word, Excel
