Fall 2021 Adsmiths Internship Program

Account Service, Art Direction, Copywriting, New Business/Social Media, and Project Management

Karsh Hagan is an agency full of people who Elevate What's Possible and we love to pass our knowledge, skills, and passion to those looking to start their careers in the industry. 

The Adsmiths Intern Program aims to grant real-world agency training and does so by offering a truly dynamic, collaborative, and educational three-month experience.

Interns receive one-on-one mentorship within their department to teach them, provide hands-on experience, and coaching and feedback as they take the next steps in the career. Interns also get a well-rounded education with interactions and learning across all departments in the agency. 

Interns create and collaborate together to leave a lasting legacy on the cultural blueprint of Karsh Hagan. Our interns walk away with priceless connections and a great resume builder.

  • Program starts mid-September until mid-December 
  • Available approximately 20 hours a week, flexible with schedules and availability
  • Hybrid in-person and remote work environment   
  • Unpaid, but not un-loved, course credit available 

Positions Available

Account Service

Those in Account Service have a natural talent for leadership and management as the liaison between the clients and the internal agency team. As the Account Service intern, you will be involved in the entire process – from strategy to media to creative to production, you will have a pulse on every step in the project with the opportunity to learn all about the advertising industry. You pump-up your team for the next project and make sure they hit every deadline. Sample daily tasks may include client / creative briefings, coordinating with studio, managing projects and deadlines, competitive research – however, no day is the same! If you are a self-starter, go-getter, hand-raiser, home run-hitter—this position is for you.

  • Ability to lead/manage a team, detail oriented, good communicator
  • Focus in marketing, advertising, public relations, business or communication
  • Experience with Google Suite: Doc, Sheets, and Slides
  • Proactive, inquisitive, and hungry to learn
  • Solution-focused, able to think critically and solve problems creatively
  • Business-minded, interested in understanding clients’ business challenges, products / services, and operations
  • Organized and able to compartmentalize projects on similar timelines

Art Director/Designer

Art Directors take the lead in creativity. You’re a visual problem solver and an image-centric think tank. If you pride yourself in developing inspiring narratives and bringing them to life, then this is your calling.

  • Excellent skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator is required)
  • Aesthetic eye for creative work
  • Experience in graphic design
  • Portfolio required 

Copywriting

Copywriters find the narrative behind every product or brand and give it an engaging voice. If you want to create hard-hitting headlines and charming copy, come to KH to sharpen your talents.

  • Strong creative writing, proofing, and editing skills
  • Background in English, journalism, creative writing, communication, marketing, or advertising
  • Detail oriented 
  • Portfolio required 

New Business / Social Media 

New Business and communication is the lifeblood of any agency. In tandem with our long-standing relationships with clients, it is always necessary to reach further and endeavor to outreach and gain new partnerships that collide with our purpose. The ideal candidate will help support new business activities & agency promotion (focus on social media).  Research, consumer insights, strategy, social media, agency communications and PR outreach are the fundamentals for this position.

  • CRM experience / Hubspot preferred
  • CMS experience
  • Strong research skills
  • Familiarity with top social media platforms & management platforms; Sprout & Canva are a plus
  • Experience with Google Suite:  Doc, Sheets, & slides
  • Public relations and media relations experience
  • Keynote, InDesign and extra design skills a plus

Project Management

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, reporting, and monitoring all aspects of a project. Project Managers need to possess a strong desire in finding ways to make tasks more efficient within the agency by identifying gaps and holes that can be filled, while also working with the account team on specific duties.

  • Experience in project management platforms such as Trello and TeamGantt
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to adapt to unexpected tasks/needs
  • Communication/interpersonal skills
  • Passion for streamlining processes
