Summary of Position

The staff accountant will report directly to the Director of Finance and Operations.  This position will provide support in the daily, weekly, monthly and annual financial and accounting functions.  These functions include, but are not limited to transactional data entry, reconciliations, assistance with financial statement preparation, and preparation of periodic required filings and support for accounting and financial projects as assigned.  Ultimately, you will help our Accounting department run smoothly, ensuring transparency and efficiency in all transactions.

Specific duties include

Accounts Receivable 

  • Customer maintenance
  • Customer billing
  • Customer payment processing 

Accounts Payable

  • Vendor maintenance
  • Vendor bill entry
  • Vendor payment processing
  • Verifying and entering expense reports

Monthly reconciliations

  • Preparation of reconciliations as instructed

Payroll

  • Gather and reconcile payroll data
  • Enter payroll data into the payroll platform

Periodic Report generation

  • Preparation of filings including 1099’s, personal property tax declarations schedules and sales & use tax returns
  • Assistance with the budgeting process

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is a plus
  • 3 Year’s work experience as an Accounting Assistant or Accounting Clerk
  • Good knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures
  • Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors
  • Hands-on experience with MS Excel 
  • Organization skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
